JOHANNA & MARKUS
| a Spanish Destination Wedding at beautiful La Torre by Bonho in Valencia

Many of their friends and family had already arrived a few days earlier, turning the wedding into a true getaway. By Sunday, everyone was already in full celebration mode. I arrived just before noon, after an early morning flight, and found Johanna with her two bridesmaids finalizing the last little details of the dinner setup. The atmosphere was calm but full of anticipation. Upstairs in the room Johanna began slipping into her dress. Hair and makeup had been done earlier that morning, so it was just about putting on the finishing touches — and letting the excitement sink in.

A few floors up, Markus was getting ready with his two groomsmen, ties were fixed and shoes were put on. When the time came for the first look, they walked down the stairs to wait for her in the courtyard. As Johanna stepped out — the two of them couldn’t stop smiling.

Together with their friends, we took some couple pictures on the beautiful grounds of La Torre.

Soon, the shuttle bus arrived with their guests, who made their way to the garden for the ceremony. Johanna and Markus had planned a few surprises — starting with two friends who playfully passed out shots to everyone before the ceremony even began. Their entrance to their song You’ve Got the Love was super emotional . The ceremony, led by a close friend, was deeply personal — emotional yet full of humor. As the newlyweds walked back up the aisle, the cheers were loud and joyful.

The celebration moved up to the pool terrace, where a live Spanish acoustic duo played while guests enjoyed champagne and Aperol. Johanna and Markus filled the Aperol tower themselves — and took some photos with their friends and families.

When it was time for dinner, the atmosphere was already electric. The couple made a grand entrance to drums, maracas, shakers, cheers, and waving napkins in their wedding colors. Guests danced on chairs and tables. Throughout the evening, guests performed hilarious and heartfelt one-minute toasts, each one more creative than the last. Between courses, spontaneous dances broke out, and by dessert, everyone was already on their feet.

Later, Johanna and Markus slipped away with their bridesmaids and groomsmen to change — she reappeared in a glittering party dress with bold red shoes, ready to dance the night away. They re-entered to loud music, champagne sprays, and cheers — and from there, it was pure party.
A DJ took over, and as a highlight, Johanna’s bridesmaid Angela surprised everyone with her first-ever DJ set, playing for the couple herself. The night turned into one long blur of dancing, laughter, and love under the Valencian sky.
