Marina & Manuel

| A Two-Day Celebration in the Alps of Kitzbühel, Civil Wedding and Celebration at Rosi's Sonnbergstuben

Marina and Manuel chose Kitzbühel for their wedding – a place full of charm, nestled in the Austrian Alps. On the first day, they celebrated their civil ceremony in the heart of the old town, surrounded by their closest family and friends. After saying “yes” at the oldtown, the group crossed the street to Hillinger, where a relaxed reception awaited them. It was an intimate and warm start, with a few short photos in the cobblestone alleys of the old town before shuttles took everyone up to Seidlalm.

The weather couldn’t have been better – blue skies and a clear view over the surrounding mountains made the afternoon lunch feel almost unreal. From the terrace at Seidlalm, guests enjoyed not just the food but a sweeping view over Kitzbühel and the Alps. We took the chance for a few more photos up there, then everyone headed back to the hotel to rest and recharge – because the big celebration was still to come.

Day two started early at Rosi’s Sonnbergstuben. While the final preparations were underway for the symbolic ceremony, Marina was upstairs getting ready. Hair and makeup were done by Mena, and despite all the activity on the grounds, the getting-ready room was quiet and calm. Marina spent the morning there with her cousin Coco, taking in the moment. A few rooms down, Manuel got ready with his best man Steffen – and their dog Leo was happily weaving between everyone’s feet, clearly knowing something special was happening.

Outside, the team was busy setting up for the ceremony, which took place on the parking plateau with a stunning view of the valley. Wedding planner Julia from Just_E_Events had an eye for every detail. Guests arrived via chairlift and were greeted by traditional alphorn players at the summit – a beautiful welcome that set the tone for the rest of the celebration.

Back inside, Marina changed into her gown by Millanova, and her seven bridesmaids – all in shades of blue – waited just outside. When they saw her fully dressed, there were tears and hugs. Her parents came shortly after, and she shared a few quiet moments with her father before the walk down the aisle.

Outside, 200 guests were already seated as Manuel entered with his best man, accompanied by live music from Sinamelodies and pianist Flo Barley, who played on a black grand piano. One by one, the bridesmaids made their entrance, and finally Marina stepped into view with her father. She looked radiant, and Manuel couldn’t hide how moved he was. The ceremony was led by Johann from Strauß & Fliege – emotional, full of heart, and with a good dose of humour. Marina and Manuel’s niece proudly handed over the rings. After the vows, the couple walked back down the aisle with loud applause, followed by their four flower children.

After the ceremony, guests followed Marina and Manuel to the terrace, where a beautiful celebration was already waiting. The couple was warmly congratulated and the champagner tower was opened,

Shortly after, the wedding cake arrived – but not in the traditional way. A group of five musicians called The Squire (playing double bass, saxophone, guitar, percussion, and vocals) made their way through the crowd, bringing the energy up instantly. The cake  was cut and guests were already dancing and singing along with the music while enjoying their dessert.

As the sun started to lower, we stepped away for a short photo session just a few steps from the venue. The light was golden and the mountains behind us glowing. Marina had taken off her train for this part and changed into her evening look – styled again by Mena. To avoid being seen too early, we took a slightly adventurous route back, with Marina climbing over a small fence and sneaking in through a back entrance.

Back on the main terrace, guests were already seated, and the anticipation built as the newlyweds made their grand entrance – greeted with waving napkins and loud cheers. Dinner was served at long, beautifully set tables with a view, and featured classic Austrian cuisine. Over the meal, several heartfelt speeches were given – from Marina’s three younger brothers, both fathers, and Manuel himself. There were many laughs, emotional moments, and shared memories. Then came the big culinary finale: a giant Kaiserschmarrn, caramelised and served hot.

The dance floor officially opened with Marina and Manuel’s first dance – and The Squire made their return, entering the room to the sound of “Pretty Woman.” From that point on, it didn’t take long until people were up on chairs and tables, dancing, singing, and celebrating late into the night - the kind of evening no one will forget anytime soon.
